Mustafa Saripek / Muğla, July 29 () – In the Köyceğiz district of Muğla resort province, the municipality announced that the rock graves under protection, which date back to 2,400 years, will be protected by wire cloth, in order to prevent the harm of people climbing over them to take pictures.

Leader of the Kaunos Ancient Site excavation works, Professor Cengiz Işık, has been making efforts to protect the graves better. A viewing platform was finaly constructed and delivered to the Directorate of Fethiye Museum.

Despite these attempts, Cengiz Işık reported that people still keep entering into the graves to take pictures, while damaging the historical artefacts, some even walk the 70-80 degrees steep alley full of gravels and large and small rocks, to reach the rock graves, putting their life at stake.
