İbrahim Meşe / Mersin, Aug 5 () – 50 Syrian migrants were tricked by a human smuggler who has claimed to cross them into Italy by boat and then brought them to Turkey’s Mersin.

Organizer Ebul Muhammed cheated the Syrian migrants for three days wandering in open sea, left them in Mersin coast and vanished by a jet ski, after taking 3,000 to 5,000 dollars from them.

The group of 50 illegal migrants from Syria including women and children found themselves in Karaduvar neighbourhood of the Merkez Akdeniz district. As police teams noticed a bustle and hit the coast, migrants dispersed around in ambient streets; two of them tripped, fell and broke their feet.

While the group were retained together on the street by the security teams, two injured were hospitalized buy ambulances. People gave out food and water to the migrants. The migrants were sent to Foreigners’ Department after necessary examinations.

Syrian migrants looking to make a break to European countries keep massing in Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean provinces, while many of them give thousands of dollars to human traffickers risking their lives on a boat to leave Syria through Turkey’s coasts.
