Istanbul, July 3 () - Consumer prices fell by 0.51 percent in June as prices of food and non-alcholic beverages falls by 2.79 percent, while domestic producer price index increased by 0.25 percent, according to the data released by Turkstat on Friday.

Conrsumer prices rose by 4.76 percent in the first six months of the year, annual inflation stood at 7.20 percent and 12-month moving averages basis inflation at 8.28 percent.

The highest monthly increase was 2.64 percent in recreation and culture, followed by hotels, cafes and restaurants with 1.09 percent, miscellaneous goods and services with 0.79 percent, education with 0.70 percent and health with 0.53 percent.

The highest monthly decrease was observed by 2.79 percent in food and non-alcoholic beverages, followed by clothing and footwear with 1.32 percent, furnishings and household equipments with 0.09 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 0.01 percent and transportation with 0.01 percent.

The highest annual increase stood at 13.62 percent in hotels, cafes and restaurants, followed by recreation and culture with 11.13 percent, miscellaneous goods and services with 9.89 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 9.28 percent, housing with 8.39 percent.

In June 2015 within average prices of 426 items in the index, average prices of 71 items remained unchanged while average prices of 218 items increased and average prices of 137 items decreased.

Domestic producer price index increased by 0.25 percent

Domestic producer prices increased by 0.25 percent on monthly basis in June and rose by 5.49 percent in the first half of the year. Domestic producer prices increased by 6.73 percent on annual basis and increase on the twelve months moving averages basis  stood at by 6.74 percent in June.

The highest monthly increase was in crude petroleum and natural gas

The highest monthly increase realised at crude petroleum and natural gas prices with 8.62 percent, followed by rubber and plastic products 2.46 percent, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations 1.55 percent.

On the other hand the highest rates of monthly decrease were at electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 1.84 percent, wearing apparel with 1.74 percent and computer, electronic and optical products with 1.01 percent.
